Alright guys, i need a little help figuring this one out. My '90 n/a 5-speed swap started having a fluctuating idle for no reason i can remember. it would only do it when i am in motion and have the clutch in (where it would normally just idle). the higher the speed the more erradical the idle would be, and half the time just stall the motor. i have a custom k/n setup and it was brought to my attention that it might me turbulence from the air being rammed straight past the maf. i had that setup for a while before the issue started though. either way i made and mounted a windguard to stop the ram effect on the filter. this seemed to work and the idle now only fluctuates slightly in the same scenarios. i suppose i can live with this. my other major problem with this is that now whenever i turn the headlamps on the idle increases to 2000 rpm consistently, and it will jump up another 200 or so if i press the brake pedal. sometimes it will drop to 1500, but i cant figure out what makes it drop. this is really annoying considering i drive a loud, red z, late at night often... and the cops love to eyeball me to begin with... doesnt help that im idling at 2k at red lights.... not to mention the waste of gas... any ideas?
i'm thinking possibly ecu?
